On Tuesday, South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix announced that it will invest 19 trillion won (approximately $12.9 billion) to build an advanced chip packaging plant in South Korea to meet the growing demand for memory chips in the artificial intelligence sector. The new factory is scheduled to commence construction in April 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
