Due to the impact of global volatility in the storage and semiconductor chip markets, the prices of essential computer components have seen a dramatic upswing. Based on a recent survey, starting from September 2025, the costs of CPUs, solid-state drives (SSDs), DDR4 and DDR5 memory modules, as well as high-end graphics cards, have all experienced a sharp surge in the Huaqiangbei electronics market. For example, the price of a Kingston 16GB DDR4 memory module has jumped from 200 yuan to 750 yuan. A Samsung 1TB SSD now sells for 980 yuan, while an Intel 12th Gen Core i3-12100 CPU is priced at 800 yuan. Furthermore, the cost of a high-end 5090 graphics card has soared from 22,000 yuan to 30,000 yuan in just a 10-day span. This significant price increase has led to a substantial rise in the overall expense of assembling a computer, with high-performance models witnessing price hikes of at least over 10,000 yuan.
