According to Bloomberg, in recent years, many investors have adopted a strategy of heavily investing in large-cap U.S. tech stocks to outperform the market. This strategy had long yielded substantial returns, but after the Federal Reserve raised interest rates in 2022, last year marked the first time that most companies among America's 'Tech Seven Giants' underperformed the S&P 500 index. Although the Bloomberg Tech Seven Giants Index rose by 25% in 2025, outperforming the S&P 500's 16% gain, this was primarily driven by the strong performances of Google's parent company Alphabet and Nvidia.
