As a 'translator' for frequencies, the 'Fourier transform' can convert complex signals into the language of frequencies. It is a fundamental and widely applied computational method in the fields of science and engineering. The team of Tao Yaoyu and Yang Yuchao from Peking University has innovatively designed a multi-physical-domain fusion computing architecture. By utilizing post-Moore new devices to support the Fourier transform, the computing power has been enhanced by nearly four times, opening up new possibilities in fields such as embodied intelligence, edge perception, brain-inspired computing, and communication systems. The related achievements were published in Nature Electronics on January 9, 2026.
