On January 6, AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, presented a range of AI chips at the CES event held in Las Vegas. Among these offerings, the MI455 AI processor stands out as a pivotal element for data center server racks. This processor has already commenced sales to several clients, including the renowned OpenAI. Moreover, Su introduced the MI440X chip, which is tailored for on-premises enterprise applications. She also offered a glimpse into the future with the MI500 series, slated for release in 2027. This upcoming series is anticipated to bring about a staggering 1000-fold enhancement in performance compared to its predecessors. In addition to these AI chips, AMD also showcased the Ryzen AI 400 series processor, designed specifically for AI PCs, as well as the Ryzen AI Max+ chip, optimized for local inference tasks and gaming experiences.
