Amid the ongoing and fluid adjustments to U.S. export restrictions targeting China, NVIDIA has landed a massive order from Chinese clients for up to 2 million H200 AI chips. This figure dramatically overshadows NVIDIA's current stockpile, which stands at 700,000 chips.
In light of this substantial demand, NVIDIA is gearing up to resume production of its Hopper-series chips. The company has also approached the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), a key player in the global semiconductor industry, with a request to ramp up production capacity. This move is expected to place considerable strain on TSMC's manufacturing capabilities.
Financially, the fulfillment of this 2 million-chip order is projected to be a windfall for NVIDIA, with estimated revenues soaring to approximately RMB 377.6 billion. This development not only underscores the resilience of China's AI market amidst international trade tensions but also highlights NVIDIA's pivotal role in meeting the burgeoning demand for advanced AI technologies in the region.
