A research team, helmed by Professors Pan Jianwei and Zhang Qiang from the University of Science and Technology of China, in concert with the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology, the Institute of Semiconductors at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and several other institutions, has achieved a remarkable feat. They've successfully created an electrically pumped, on-chip integrated source of high-brightness polarization-entangled photons. This was accomplished through the hybrid integration of a distributed feedback laser with a thin-film lithium niobate photonic chip.

This milestone represents a major leap forward in the realm of integrated quantum information processing. The team's related research findings were featured on December 16 in the esteemed international academic journal Physical Review Letters, specifically highlighted as an "Editor's Suggestion".
