On Thursday, during the fourth-quarter earnings call, Broadcom's CEO, Hock Tan, disclosed that the so-called "mysterious client," with a deal value amounting to tens of billions of dollars and previously the subject of rampant market speculation, is none other than the artificial intelligence research lab Anthropic. Anthropic has placed a substantial order with Broadcom for complete server racks. These racks are built around Google's cutting-edge Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), codenamed Ironwood. The order's value soared to $10 billion in the third quarter, and an additional $11 billion was added in the fourth quarter, culminating in a staggering total order size of $21 billion.
