The extent of the price rise will vary, with increments spanning from roughly 10% to 30%, contingent upon the memory configuration of each computer model. The root cause of this price surge lies in the scarcity of DRAM and NAND chips, a situation further aggravated by the booming demand for constructing AI data centers, which has significantly heightened the competition for chip supplies. Specifically, Dell's Pro and Pro Max laptops and desktops outfitted with 32GB of memory are expected to witness price escalations ranging from $130 to $230. Meanwhile, the premium models boasting 128GB of memory will experience a steeper price climb, with increases between $520 and $765. Furthermore, laptops offering an optional 1TB storage capacity will see their overall prices surge by $55 to $135.
