AI developer David Noel Ng disclosed that a pre-owned AI server, boasting dual NVIDIA GH200 superchips, was recently sold for a mere 7,000 euros (equivalent to roughly 58,000 yuan). The GH200 chip is tailored specifically for AI and high-performance computing applications. Each chip integrates a 72-core Grace CPU with an H100 GPU, providing a maximum memory capacity of 624GB. Presently, the H100 series is priced at approximately $40,000, and given the enhanced capabilities of the GH200, it is likely to fetch an even steeper price. Despite the seemingly bargain-basement price tag on this used server, the GH200 faces constraints in production capacity and is predominantly reserved for high-end users, such as supercomputing centers, resulting in a scarce market supply.
