On December 10, 2025, AMD officially rolled out a substantial update for its FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology, codenamed 'Redstone'. Tailored for the Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards featuring the 'RDNA 4' architecture, this update extends support to over 200 games. FSR Redstone dramatically enhances gaming visuals and performance through the introduction of four innovative machine learning-driven features:

Firstly, the FSR Optimization Upgrade leverages machine learning algorithms to intelligently reconstruct low-resolution images, thereby delivering crisp, high-definition visuals. Secondly, FSR Frame Generation accurately predicts and inserts new frames, boosting frame rates and ensuring a smoother gaming experience. Thirdly, FSR Ray Reconstruction infers and restores comprehensive ray tracing details from sparse sampling data, reducing rendering overhead and presenting clear, noise-free visuals. Lastly, FSR Radiance Caching dynamically learns and predicts the propagation paths of light in complex scenes, enabling efficient real-time global illumination simulation.

Although initially available exclusively for RX 9000 series graphics cards, AMD has indicated that certain features may be made accessible to older graphics cards through forthcoming software updates. Furthermore, the technology does not hinge on proprietary hardware and is, in theory, compatible with third-party graphics cards.
