On December 10 local time, Intel failed in its appeal against the EU's antitrust ruling, but the European Union's second-highest court reduced its €376 million fine by one-third to €237 million. The fine relates to payments made by Intel to Hewlett-Packard, Acer, and others between November 2002 and December 2006 to block or delay the launch of competitor products. The judge stated that the €237 million fine better reflects the seriousness and duration of the violation.
