Recently, there has been a substantial surge in the prices of memory modules. This development has led memory chip maker Micron Technology to proclaim that it will shut down its retail channel operations and instead direct its efforts towards competing in the advanced memory chip market in the era of artificial intelligence. In a statement released on Wednesday, Micron revealed that it will discontinue its Crucial (known as Yingruida in the Chinese market) consumer - facing business. The existing stock of products will be cleared through sales until the end of February 2026. The company also clarified that it will keep supplying Micron - branded enterprise products to its global commercial channel customers. Moreover, the existing product warranties will continue to be valid without any changes.
