Media sources have reported that Lo Weijen, who previously served as TSMC's Senior Vice President, was set to join Intel as Executive Vice President following his retirement at the end of July. In response, TSMC has submitted an application to the Intellectual Property and Commercial Court for "interim relief to ascertain the provisional status," seeking to prevent his appointment. The company alleges that Lo Weijen has breached his employment contract, non-compete clause, and trade secret regulations, potentially divulging confidential company information. TSMC mentioned that during Lo Weijen's exit interview, he expressed his intention to join an academic institution; however, he ultimately accepted a position at Intel. The court has accepted the lawsuit and will initiate proceedings promptly. Additionally, Lo Weijen's membership as an academician at the Industrial Technology Research Institute is under consideration for revocation.
