Recently, the market has been grappling with a shortage of memory chips, a situation that has been compounded by continuously rising prices. Jason Chen, the Chairman of Acer, has expressed optimism, stating that once the production capacity of DDR5 memory on China's Mainland experiences a significant boost, the current shortage will be substantially alleviated. At present, the memory industry is riding a strong upward wave, and this trend is exerting a profound influence on the PC market. According to an analysis conducted by the market research firm TrendForce, the proportion of DRAM and NAND Flash in the bill of materials (BOM) cost for notebook computers has seen a notable increase. Prior to the price hikes, this proportion stood at 10%-18%, but after consecutive quarterly price rises, it has now surged to over 20%.
