The research team led by Academician Huang Wei, along with Professors Wang Jianpu and Wang Nana from the National Key Laboratory of Flexible Electronics at the relevant university, has innovatively introduced the concept of "interlayer photon recycling." This breakthrough has successfully elevated the external quantum efficiency of tandem perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to an impressive 45.5%. The related research findings were published online in the prestigious journal Nature on the 12th.

Wang Nana explained that when compared to organic LEDs, perovskite LEDs exhibit significantly better performance in terms of luminance and color purity during the conversion of electrical energy into light energy. As a result, perovskite LEDs have emerged as a focal point of research for new global lighting and display technologies.
