On November 12, 2025, during the Financial Analyst Day, AMD presented its latest roadmap for the Zen architecture, shedding light on the development cycles and core technological directions for the Zen 6 and Zen 7 core architectures. Zen 6 is slated for release in 2026. It will make its debut featuring TSMC's 2nm process technology. The primary focus of Zen 6 lies in boosting both performance and efficiency, while also achieving seamless integration of AI capabilities. Zen 7, on the other hand, will leverage a 'future node' process, anticipated to fall within the range of TSMC N2P to N1.8 (estimated to be between TSMC's N2P and N1.8). This architecture introduces a revolutionary matrix computation engine, support for cutting-edge AI data formats, and a fortified AI Pipeline structure. These advancements position Zen 7 as the first x86 architecture to be equipped with a dedicated AI acceleration engine, heralding Zen's official foray into the AI-native era. Zen 7 is projected to hit the market between 2027 and 2028, with the initial offerings likely to be the EPYC Verano series data center CPUs.
