NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, recently announced that the company's newest Blackwell chips are experiencing significant demand, a surge made possible in part by TSMC's reliable wafer supply. Huang underscored that Blackwell is not merely a single GPU but rather a sophisticated computing platform encompassing CPUs, networking gear, and switches, which inherently raises the stakes for supply chain robustness. Given TSMC's pivotal role as NVIDIA's main collaborator, its capacity to meet production needs is essential. Huang acknowledged that, as business expands, encountering supply shortages at various points along the supply chain is to be expected. He also highlighted that three major memory producers—SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron—have substantially increased their output to support NVIDIA, with the company already having received samples of their most cutting-edge chips. When questioned about the possibility of selling Blackwell chips to China, Huang clarified that there are currently no ongoing discussions regarding this topic.
