On October 31, insiders with knowledge of the situation revealed that Intel is currently engaged in initial discussions regarding the acquisition of SambaNova, a company specializing in the production of artificial intelligence chips. SambaNova has, in the past, collaborated with banking professionals to gauge the level of interest from potential buyers. Sources indicate that the valuation of SambaNova in any potential deal is expected to fall below the $5 billion mark, which was its valuation during the 2021 funding round. At present, these negotiations are still in their nascent stages, and it is yet to be determined whether the two parties will ultimately come to terms and finalize an agreement.
