At the NVIDIA GTC October 2025 Conference (GTC DC) taking place today, NVIDIA made a splash by unveiling a series of new products. Among them, the next-generation NVIDIA BlueField-4 DPU stole the limelight.

This DPU is no ordinary chip. It not only boasts support for 800G high-speed networking and incorporates NVIDIA's ConnectX-9 networking technology, but also packs an impressive punch with up to 64 Arm cores. At present, NVIDIA has kept the full specifications of the BlueField-4 DPU under wraps. However, it has confirmed that the chip is a powerhouse, integrating up to 126 billion transistors. Paired with NVIDIA's ConnectX-9 networking technology, it offers full-fledged support for 800G network connectivity.

While the BlueField-4 isn't the first DPU to feature a 64-core Arm architecture, NVIDIA's iteration is still poised to make waves in the industry. This is especially true given the ongoing global surge in capital expenditures directed towards AI clusters built around NVIDIA GPUs. In this context, NVIDIA's dominance in the ecosystem is becoming more and more pronounced.
