As reported by SeDaily and cited by TrendForce, Samsung is poised to emerge as the primary supplier of HBM4 memory for AMD's soon-to-be-released MI450 accelerator. This development follows closely on the heels of AMD and OpenAI's announcement of a multi-year strategic partnership. This partnership entails a 6-gigawatt chip collaboration and grants OpenAI the right to acquire up to 10% of AMD's outstanding shares. As part of the deal, OpenAI is set to utilize a cumulative 6 gigawatts of AMD GPU computing capacity in the years ahead. The initial shipment, comprising 1 gigawatt of MI450 series GPUs, is scheduled to commence in the latter half of 2026.
