According to the tech news outlet 9to5Mac, Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone lineup, featuring the A19 and A19 Pro chips, a cutting-edge N1 wireless chip, and the next-generation C1X 5G baseband. Notably, the C1X baseband makes its debut in the iPhone 17 Air, delivering speeds that are twice as fast as its predecessor while also achieving a 30% reduction in energy consumption. However, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models do not incorporate this baseband and instead continue to rely on third-party Qualcomm basebands. In response to this, Apple executive Aaron Mathias clarified that the company’s focus at the time was on integrating the essential features for the iPhone 17 Air and that Apple plans to gradually expand the use of its in-house cellular solutions across more of its products in the future.
