On September 20, China inaugurated its first fully independent and domestically controllable new-generation 500 kV substation, the Xiquan Substation, in Liaoning Province. This milestone substation represents the first instance in which the entire supply chain of electrical and protective equipment, encompassing core materials and pivotal chips, has been successfully localized. This achievement significantly bolsters the security of the power grid and augments the capability to transmit new energy-generated power from the northern regions of Liaoning.
