On September 13, 2025, the Ministry of Commerce launched an anti-discrimination investigation in line with China's "Foreign Trade Law" in response to U.S. measures targeting China in the integrated circuit sector. This move came as a reaction to discriminatory practices that could potentially undermine fair trade principles.
On September 19, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers followed suit by issuing a notice. The notice declared that, in order to evaluate the potential repercussions on the automotive industry stemming from the application of integrated circuits, the association would initiate its own anti-discrimination investigation within the automotive sector. All relevant entities were instructed to submit their feedback and opinions via the "Trade Remedy Investigation Information Platform," ensuring a structured and transparent process for gathering industry insights.
