Last month, PCI-SIG announced that the PCI Express 8.0 standard aims to achieve a transfer rate of 256 GT/s, with a bandwidth of up to 1TB/s in an x16 configuration. Today, PCI-SIG officially released the PCIe 8.0 v0.3 specification to its association members, marking a new phase in the development of the specification, with an expected official launch in 2028.
