On the 12th, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced that it would provide a subsidy of up to ¥536 billion (approximately RMB 25.869 billion) for Micron's Hiroshima DRAM memory factory. Micron plans to invest ¥1.5 trillion to expand the factory for mass production of next-generation DRAM memory. Among this, the Japanese government will provide a subsidy of ¥500 billion, accounting for one-third of the total investment, with an additional ¥36 billion to support research and development. Relevant personnel from Micron expressed gratitude and stated that this funding would accelerate the development of high-performance memory solutions for the AI era.
