On the 7th, an unexploded ordnance was found on the outskirts of TSMC's Nanzi facility in Kaohsiung. The Taiwan military's bomb disposal unit promptly arrived at the location to assess the situation and verified that it was a leftover from an old air-dropped bomb. Authorities assured that there were no immediate safety risks, and the ordnance was subsequently transported to a secure storage area for destruction, following established protocols for waste bomb disposal.

This marks the third instance of unexploded ordnance being discovered at this particular site. Earlier, on August 27, 2024, and November 11, remnants of a '1,000-pound air-dropped bomb' and a '500-pound air-dropped bomb' were unearthed, respectively. The bombs showed significant signs of corrosion, leading to suspicions that they might be remnants from U.S. military airstrikes targeting oil depots during the Pacific War.
