Recently, Amprius (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. has been penalized by the Wuxi Market Supervision and Administration Bureau for significant violations of certification regulations. According to reports, the company neglected to apply for an extension of its certification certificate from the relevant certification body as mandated, and proceeded to sell battery cells without the required mandatory certification. This included cells produced both internally and by contract manufacturers. Additionally, during the period when its CCC certificate was suspended or revoked, the company continued to sell non-compliant products without authorization. Furthermore, following changes in its raw material suppliers, Amprius sold products without passing the necessary re-inspections, again without permission.
Consequently, the Wuxi Market Supervision and Administration Bureau confiscated the company's illegal income exceeding 3.51 million yuan and imposed a fine of 230,000 yuan, amounting to a total penalty and confiscation of over 3.74 million yuan. Prior to this incident, Amprius had also garnered attention due to its involvement in the Romoss power bank controversy.
