U.S. officials have recently informed Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) of their decision to revoke the 'Verify End-User' (VEU) status of its Nanjing plant, mirroring the actions taken against Samsung Electronics and other factories in mainland China. TSMC has acknowledged receipt of this notification, and the exemption will terminate on December 31, 2025. In response, TSMC has stated that it is currently evaluating the situation and will take necessary steps, including engaging with the U.S. government, to ensure the continued, uninterrupted operations of its Nanjing facility.
