China's pioneering special equipment safety sandbox supervision program has officially commenced its testing phase, signaling a significant milestone in reforming the supervision model for high-risk new material applications. The program specifically targets the trial production and rigorous testing of innovative high-temperature alloy materials essential for 650℃ ultra-supercritical power units. Employing a prudent, inclusive, and risk-managed approach, this initiative aims to establish a benchmark for the safe integration of novel materials, technologies, and processes. It is anticipated that this testing will address the current constraints in high-temperature alloy development, accelerate the industrialization of these advanced materials, and ultimately propel the high-quality growth of the national energy and power industry.
