A-Share Markets Open Sharply Higher, Highlighted by Semiconductor Sector Strength

The three major A-share indices opened the day collectively in positive territory, with the Shanghai Composite Index, Shenzhen Component Index, and ChiNext Index rising 0.31%, 0.61%, and 0.85%, respectively. Among the leading sectors, precious metals, diversified finance, and semiconductors stood out, driving the market momentum. Notably, Leiyang Chips and Telink Semiconductor experienced trading halts due to reaching their daily price limits, while Hua Hong Semiconductor surged over 12%. Shengda Resources and China Oil Capital also witnessed significant gains, rising by more than 9% and 7%, respectively.

On the flip side, the sectors experiencing the most pronounced declines were automobiles, retail, and education. Guofang Group, BYD, and Doushen Education fell by more than 5%, 4%, and 1%, respectively, dragging down their respective industries.
