On August 31, the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIA) released data highlighting a resurgence in the performance of the industrial manufacturing sector. During the first half of the year, the manufacturing industry's operating conditions improved significantly, with revenue and net profit rising by 4.73% and 7.75% year-on-year, respectively. In advanced manufacturing fields such as the military industry, new energy, and medical devices, robust demand for raw materials coupled with a tightened supply structure drove prices of non-ferrous metals and plastic products to record highs. Specifically, the non-ferrous metal industry witnessed a revenue growth rate of 6.49% and a net profit growth rate of an impressive 36.55%. Meanwhile, the plastic products industry saw a revenue growth rate of 10.10% and a net profit growth rate of 19.59%. Furthermore, the optical module and PCB industries continued to enjoy high order volumes, benefiting from the booming downstream industrial chain and expanded business operations by overseas customers. Notably, listed optical module companies experienced a doubling of their net profit, while listed PCB companies saw their net profit increase by nearly 50%.
