TSMC is vigorously progressing towards mass production of the 2nm process and has set its sights on introducing the 1.6nm and 1.4nm processes. Notably, the civil engineering work for the second plant in the Central Taiwan Science Park is anticipated to be finalized by the end of September, with plant construction set to commence in October. The facility aims to conduct risk trials for the 1.4nm process in 2027, aiming for official mass production in the second half of 2028, with an initial monthly capacity of 50,000 wafers. The new A14 process boasts significant enhancements in performance, power efficiency, and logic density compared to the N2 process.
