On August 29, the three main A-share indexes commenced trading with mixed performances. The Shanghai Composite Index and the Shenzhen Component Index both slipped 0.02% at the open, whereas the ChiNext Index gained 0.03%. Semiconductor chip stocks experienced a retreat, with Cambrian Innovations plummeting over 6%, and both SMIC and Northern Huachuang declining by more than 4%. Shipping and computing power stocks led the downward trend, with Century Communications and COSCO Shipping Holdings both witnessing declines exceeding 2%. Conversely, the precious metals and real estate sectors shone brightly, with Wantong Development surging over 5% and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park advancing more than 4%.
