The case involving the leakage of TSMC's 2nm chip technology has seen prosecutors charge three individuals, recommending prison sentences of 14 years, 9 years, and 7 years respectively. The primary suspect, identified by the surname Chen, was previously an engineer at TSMC but subsequently joined Japan's TEL company upon leaving. Chen is alleged to have leveraged his connections with former colleagues to procure confidential documents pertaining to TSMC's 2nm etching station. The two other individuals involved are surnamed Wu and Ge, while Liao has not been indicted. TSMC has emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards such breaches and vowed to prosecute those responsible in accordance with the law.
