Simultaneously, InternLM has unveiled Intern-S1-mini, an open-source, lightweight multimodal inference model. Boasting 8 billion parameters, Intern-S1-mini integrates the Qwen3-8B language model with the 0.3 billion-parameter visual encoder InternViT. This model has undergone extensive pre-training on over 5 trillion tokens, of which more than 2.5 trillion originate from the scientific domain. Consequently, Intern-S1-mini excels at parsing molecular formulas, analyzing protein sequences, and planning synthetic pathways.
Demonstrating impressive performance across a range of general and scientific tasks, Intern-S1-mini supports multiple input formats, including text, images, and videos, with a thinking mode enabled by default, making it versatile and user-friendly.
