Today, all three major A-share indices closed in positive territory. The Shanghai Composite Index gained 1.45%, maintaining its position above the 3800-point mark. The Shenzhen Component Index rose by 2.07%, while the ChiNext Index surged ahead with a 3.36% increase. Within sectors, the semiconductor industry shone brightly, with Cambrian Innovation (Cambricon) hitting its daily trading limit, pushing its market capitalization to exceed RMB 520 billion, and SMIC also surging over 14%. The automobile and diversified financial sectors also saw strength, with BYD rising over 3% and COFCO Capital gaining more than 1%. Conversely, the soft drinks, airline, and energy sectors lagged behind, with Dongpeng Drinks falling over 2%, and both China Eastern Airlines and Shouhua Gas declining by more than 1%.
