Manus, a Chinese company specializing in "general AI agents" (operating primarily under the name "Beijing Butterfly Effect Technology Co., Ltd."), swiftly garnered international attention with the launch of its AI Agent product earlier this year. Yet, just four months later, Manus made the strategic decision to relocate its headquarters from China to Singapore and recently underwent a restructuring of its domestic business operations, resulting in staff reductions. The layoffs primarily affected non-core technical personnel, with the company offering generous severance packages of N+3 or 2N to affected employees. Meanwhile, the core technical team was transferred to the Singapore headquarters.
