Nvidia has acquired CentML, a Toronto-based AI startup, for a sum of $400 million. Founded by Wang Shang, a Chinese professional born after 1995, and his mentor, CentML focuses on enhancing the operational efficiency of AI applications. Wang Shang, who previously held a position at Nvidia, will rejoin the company as the AI system software manager. This acquisition not only reinforces Nvidia's CUDA toolchain but also underscores its approach of attracting top talent through mergers and acquisitions. Over the past year and a half, Nvidia has strategically acquired several AI startups and welcomed numerous talented Chinese professionals to its ranks.
