On July 3, TikTok saw a surge of AI-created racist videos utilizing Google's Veo 3 tool, garnering millions of views. These videos perpetuate racist stereotypes, portraying black people as monkeys, criminals, or linking them with items like watermelons and fried chicken. Veo 3, a text-to-video generation tool launched by Google on May 20 with an 8-second video length limit, has been misused in this manner. Despite TikTok's explicit ban on content that disparages racial or ethnic groups, such videos continue to proliferate on the platform.
