On July 2, social media erupted in debate over allegations that WeChat's AI was invading users' privacy. Netizens shared their experiences where, upon searching for a name on the platform, the AI seemingly compiled personal information to automatically create a resume, complete with an embedded official website link. In response, WeChat officials emphasized that their AI search feature solely aggregates publicly available information and does not access personal privacy data. Nevertheless, experts cautioned that even public information can be correlated and exploited by AI, urging users to heighten their awareness regarding privacy protection.
