After receiving a decision of non-prosecution in April, the involved driver, Jiang, has decided to file a lawsuit against Gaode Maps. According to reports, the road segment where the accident occurred had not yet been inspected and accepted at the time of the incident, and the Rongcheng County Transportation Bureau has confirmed that the road had not been officially handed over. Jiang maintains that he was following Gaode Maps' navigation instructions, but claims that the navigation service failed to accurately indicate special circumstances, such as the unsuitability of the road for cycling, which ultimately led to the fatal accident. Jiang is currently actively preparing the legal documents for his lawsuit and is anticipated to submit them to the court shortly.
