On June 12, 2025, the 9th Meeting of Ministers of Science and Technology of SCO Member States convened in Chengdu. During the event, participants engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in the realm of science and technology. They unanimously agreed to advance the development and execution of pertinent cooperation initiatives. Kain, the Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO, was in attendance and delivered a keynote address. He highlighted the immense potential of the SCO in fundamental research and the application of scientific research outcomes, noting that substantial progress had been achieved over the past year in specific areas of cooperation, including artificial intelligence and technology parks.
