Microsoft Research has made the Aurora AI weather forecasting model available as open source. This model, which combines deep learning with advanced data processing technology, surpasses traditional algorithms in tropical cyclone prediction. Aurora's capabilities extend beyond weather prediction, offering broad application potential in areas like wave forecasting and air quality assessment. MSN Weather services are currently leveraging this model, and it is also available for trial on the Azure platform. Developers can access the source code on GitHub to further develop and enhance Aurora's functionalities.
