At the BEYOND Expo 2025 conference in Macao on May 22, Wang Jian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of the Zhejiang Laboratory, and founder of Alibaba Cloud, frequently highlighted the concept of "technological disruption." He urged attendees to hold a sense of awe and maintain an open mindset towards technological advancements. Wang Jian underscored the potential of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and young individuals in the field of AI. He emphasized that the rise of smaller companies like Deepseek and Unitree Robotics has shattered the misconception that AI innovation is solely the domain of large corporations, demonstrating that even small teams can create remarkable achievements. Comparing the hosting of a technology exhibition in Macao, which once seemed improbable, to nurturing opportunities, Wang Jian stressed that even small teams have the capacity to achieve significant breakthroughs. Furthermore, he believes that the future of AI lies with young people, who will be entrusted with solving the world's most challenging problems.
