At a press conference on May 22, Qiu Yong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), announced that the ministry will intensify its efforts to promote the 'Innovation Points System', focusing on three key areas. Firstly, the core indicators of the system will be optimized, unveiling a version 2.0 that more precisely captures the unique attributes of technology-driven small and medium-sized enterprises. This upgrade will lay the groundwork for digitalization and intelligence in pivotal sectors of science and technology finance, leveraging high-quality data and AI algorithms to enhance evaluation precision. Secondly, the application scope of the system will be broadened, with tailored evaluations and value-added services offered to participating enterprises. This includes strengthening ties with local government policies such as loan risk compensation and interest subsidies, and introducing financial products like 'Points-based Loans' and 'Points-based Investments'. Lastly, the ministry will intensify policy interpretation and showcase successful case studies to foster wider adoption.
