On May 19, Malaysia officially unveiled its national AI infrastructure strategy, positioning itself as the pioneering nation in Southeast Asia with a fully sovereign and autonomous end-to-end AI ecosystem. This ambitious project prominently features the deployment of Chinese AI chips and the utilization of the DeepSeek large model, marking a significant milestone in the overseas expansion of Chinese AI technology. The launch ceremony was presided over by Deputy Minister of Communications of Malaysia, Zhang Nianqun, who underscored that the strategy ensures complete Malaysian control over data storage and management sovereignty.
