The LockBit hacking collective has reportedly fallen victim to an attack by rival hackers, resulting in the public exposure of its website resources, internal data, and code. The breached materials encompass a wide array of sensitive information, such as members' digital currency wallet addresses, attack tools, internal administrator passwords, ransom negotiation records, and more. An in-depth analysis of the leaked data has unveiled LockBit's strategy, which prioritizes targeting misconfigured domain controllers and disabling enterprise backup systems. This latest breach comes as another major blow to LockBit, following a crackdown by several law enforcement agencies in February 2024, despite some remnants of the group still maintaining their activities.
