The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) issued a report on April 3rd, forecasting that by 2033, the artificial intelligence (AI) market will surge to $4.8 trillion, a figure on par with the economy of Germany. AI is emerging as a pivotal driver in the digital transformation, markedly enhancing productivity. Nevertheless, the report cautions that AI may also lead to challenges such as the concentration of economic benefits and job losses, which could exacerbate inequality. Notably, 40% of global corporate R&D expenditures are concentrated within 100 companies, predominantly from the United States and China.
