Joel Pineau, Vice President of Meta AI Research and Director of FAIR, announced his resignation on May 30. Since joining Meta in 2017, Pineau has spearheaded the company's pioneering AI research initiatives. Despite Meta's ambitious plan to invest $65 billion in AI infrastructure by 2025, a successor for Pineau has yet to be named. Pineau revealed that following his departure, he intends to take a break before embarking on fresh professional endeavors.
